The Categories of Membership  

The intention of this advice is to inform potential members of the various categories of membership that are offered by the Club. It is therefore important to read this before completing an Application Form.

1.     Life Member

A Life Membership is granted only under exceptional circumstances and invariably results from both a long association with the Club and during which time a significant contribution to the advancement and wellbeing of the Club has been made.

The granting of Life Membership requires a specific nomination, the endorsement of the Board and, finally, a majority vote of Club members at an AGM or SGM.

2.     Full or Playing Member

A Full Member is entitled to all the playing and other privileges and advantages of membership of the Club. This includes full use of the Club's green/s as determined by the Board, participation in all Club Events including Championships, together will the ability to be selected and/or represent the Club in both Centre and National bowling tournaments.

Further, to hold office in the Club as well as to be able to speak and vote at General Meetings of the Club.

3.     Associate Member

An Associate Member is first and foremost a Full Member of another Club. An Associate Member is required to have obtained a Clearance Certificate from their principal Club before Associate membership may be granted.

An Associate Member is entitled to a range of playing and other privileges and advantages of Membership of the Club as determined by the Board. This includes full use of the Club's green/s and participation in certain Club events with the exception of Club Championships and as a playing representative of the Club at Centre and National events.

An Associate may also hold office in the Club as well as to be able to speak and vote at General Meetings of the Club.

4.     Social Member

A Social or Non-Playing Member is, at the discretion of the Board, entitled to use those facilities of the Club which do not involve the use of the green/s.

A Social Member may also hold office in the Club and additionally speak, with the approval of the Chairperson, but not vote at General Meetings of the Club.

5.     Limited Playing Member

A Limited Playing members is a person who wishes to play bowls at their Club only. The rights and privileges of membership as a Limited Playing Member shall be specified in the constitution, regulations and/or rules of the Club, but cannot extend beyond specific club tournaments and events.
